Month of the Girl Band: - day 23 girls just want to have fun

Cyndi Lauper was my hero as a little girl. She was the coolest, most alien creature I knew of and I wanted to be just like her. Because she was so funky and peppy, she lacked some of the credibility she deserved. I really think she paved the way for a lot of women to stretch beyond what was commercially acceptable and let their outward appearance reflect their inner self.
